Maths Curriculum Lead
Birmingham
4 days per week (Mon to Thurs or Tues to Fri - Optional)
Interim Maternity Cover - Starting 18th May until Easter 2027
£200 per day + holiday pay = £214.14 per day total

The post-holder will be responsible for working with the Assistant Principal STEM to implement the Further Education Maths strategy within the department. The post-holder will also work closely with the Curriculum Manager English to ensure consistency across the delivery of the re-sit curriculum where appropriate. The current objectives for the role are:

  • Ensuring a high-quality student experience which leads to outstanding achievement, progression and employability outcomes for all students across the college.
  • Leading, developing and maintaining the quality of maths teaching, learning and assessment aligned to Ofsted requirements to include embedding literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
  • Leading the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of the College’s Curriculum in relation to maths programmes for students and apprentices.
  • Leading the maths teams as well as resources in relation to maths provision
  • Development of College policies and procedures to support an outstanding curriculum and student experience and to ensure the college complies with relevant legal duties in relation to maths provision.

Have you got what it takes?

  • Has achieved successful outcomes in a leadership/ management position related to maths.
  • Has led teaching, learning and assessment and achieved improvements in quality and outcomes, achieving targets
  • Experience of delivering college-wide change.
  • Degree level qualification or substantial equivalent professional experience.
  • Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to obtain
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to deliver challenging goals.
